Client: A large Pennsylvania-based health services provider

Project Scope: Our client was seeking a way to reduce their prescription drug benefit costs. Charon Planning performed a thorough analysis of the company's current program and utilization and initiated a comprehensive PBM marketing effort.

Results: Through Charon Planning's analysis, marketing efforts and provider negotiations, the organization reduced its prescription drug benefit costs by over $800,000.

Client: A national manufacturer of commercial and residential construction products

Project Scope: Our client was approaching their medical premium settlement and the insurance company initially used their standard methodology for calculating annual claim reserve requirements. Charon Planning challenged the carrier's standard calculations and performed a claim reserve analysis based on a combination of current data and emerging experience.

Results: As a result of Charon Planning's claim reserve analysis and intervention with the carrier, the client saved nearly $500,000 on their annual medical premium settlement.

Client: An East Coast employer with 1000 employees

Project Scope: Charon Planning performed an in-depth analysis of a new client's prior premium billing and payments. We discovered carrier billing/invoicing errors that had gone undetected by the client's previous broker.

Results: Charon Planning requested a reconciliation from the carrier as well as a premium overpayment refund. The client received a premium refund of nearly $40,000.
